Thutong Learning Center (TLC) School based in Soweto, South Africa and eventually rural areas where underprivileged students will have an opportunity to have access to quality education is a STEM based project which incorporates project based learning with real cooperative community learning experiences. It involves a dynamic classroom approach in which students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. Students learn about a subject by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to a complex question, challenge, or problem. The project is focused on student learning goals, including standards-based content and skills such as critical thinking/problem solving, collaboration, and self-management.
1. Providing conducive learning environment free of cost.
2. Providing quality education that will prepare them for post-secondary education or careers
3. Helping underprivileged children to achieve better improvements in their lives to enable them contribute to the total development of their families and the nation as a whole.

Through our pathways in computer science, math and engineering, students not only learn technical skills, but also learn to solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate, and collaborate. We also provide teachers with the training, resources, and support they need to engage students to solve real-world problems.
Thutong Learning center consist of a set of partnerships connecting our school, the families of students, Universities, Business and the surrounding community. Our center is distinguished by an integrated focus on academics, youth achievement. Thutong learning center is uniquely equipped to develop their students into educated citizens who are ready and able to give back to their communities. Engage partners in the use of data-Sharing data enables all stakeholders to understand where things stand and hold each other accountable for making measurable progress. We are looking to extend our program to high school to best serve the needs of our students through pathways
