Welcome

Thutong Learning Center (TLC) School based in Soweto, South Africa and eventually rural areas where underprivileged students will have an opportunity to have access to quality education is a STEM based project which incorporates project based learning with real cooperative community learning experiences.

We use a dynamic classroom approach in which students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. Students learn about a subject by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to a complex question, challenge, or problem. 

Our mission is to embrace the pursuit of excellence both inside and outside the classroom. At Thutong we focus on student learning goals, including standards-based content and skills such as critical thinking/problem solving, collaboration, and self-management.
